Overcoming the Silver Bullet Syndrome in Network Marketing

Wow! Wouldn’t it be nice to be instantly successful? At anything…?

Unfortunately, in the network marketing industry, too many organizations continue to use “Get rich quick” or “It’s easy” recruiting tactics that lure people into the industry for all of the wrong reasons. Is it any wonder that, upon finding that the reality of business is not what they expected, they drop out almost as quickly as they enrolled?

Is that any wonder? Most traditional employers have discovered that there are a lot of people looking for jobs but there really aren’t that many people looking for “work”. That’s why the great employment trade-off exists…. Most people work just hard enough to keep from getting fired and most employers pay just enough to keep them chained to their desk.

And, most people follow exactly the same plan upon enrolling in their network marketing company. They came on board thinking that it would be easy and that someone else would do most of the work for them. They came into the industry looking for ‘the guy in the white hat and silver bullet’ to swoop in and save them from failure.

The ‘upside’ in network marketing, mlm, or most any direct sales organization is that there is truly an opportunity to create amazing success stories. However, the ‘downside’ is that, like in any business….. creating success requires rolling up your sleeves and getting to work.

In your own enterprise, the results you get will very closely parallel your efforts. You can’t hang out in your “cubicle” and hope that no one will notice that you are doing nothing while still drawing a paycheck.

Therefore, when you get up in the morning and look at the person in the mirror be the CEO of your business. Ask yourself, “What have I done to create my own success? As the leader of this organization, would I continue to employ ME?”

If the answer to that question is a clear and resounding, “Yes!” you are on your way!

Network marketing takes a big negative “hit” because so many people fail.

Critics blame the industry.

Truth is, Network Marketing Works…. If you work!

So, if you are one of the many waiting for someone to come to your rescue and carry you to success in your network marketing career….don’t hold your breath.

Get to work and win. It’s worth it.

Don't expect to be instantly successful.....

There are no Silver Bullets!

Today really is the first day of the rest of your life!

I have been "playing around" with getting a social media presence for a pretty long time now but have just never gotten it all put together. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I have hesitated to really "launch" thinking that everything had to be 'just right'....

Then, the other night I got to thinking about the message that was sending to my team and prospective team members. That message lacked congruence because I have always said, "The time will never be perfect to start your business. Get going. Get your feet wet and learn the ropes as you go. You will get better and better as time passes but you will continue to be stuck in a rut as long as you hesitate to ACT."

So, today, I will continue my typical DMO to build my team and I will take the baby steps necessary to build daily on my internet and social media presence. Therefore, today truly is another one of those, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." moments.

I have recently made some very big changes in my network marketing business. After an amazing amount of soul searching and research, I made the decision take on the challenge of building an entirely new team with a company that I feel is going to change millions of lives in the next few years.

In the days, weeks, months and years ahead, I will attempt to provide my readers here with messages designed to reach, teach and support those who have a sincere desire to be the best they can be in network marketing, direct sales and, perhaps just life in general.

I love network marketing, I love a challenge, I love building a team and supporting those who have the same mindset. I welcome you to come along for the ride. This blog will remain non-company specific I will do the best I can to provide my readers with a variety of information that can be used to move them forward in their business. Not everything I put forth will resonate with all readers. Take what you find useful and go to work.

Most importantly..... Go to work. This is the first day of the rest of your life! You can't change anything that happened before today but you can make a massive change in what happens in your future by taking appropriate action today.

They Called It Luck

He worked by day
and toiled by night.

He gave up play
and much delight.

Dry books he read,
new things to learn.

And forged ahead,
success to earn.

He plodded on,
With faith and pluck.

And....when he won,
they called it Luck.

Network marketing is a business of 'doing' every day in spite of all of the negatives an individual will certainly encounter.

What we are typically exposed to are the stories of the very successful. We see stories of the star performers and industry legends like Eric Worre, Bob Crisp, Dexter Yeager, Nathan Ricks, Brian McMullen, Ed Bestoso, Brian Carruthers, Jeff Roberti, Jordon Adler, Ray Higdon, Richard Brooke Bliss, Matt Morris, Susan Sly, Robert Hollis and scores of others and thier successes scream so loudly that one would think that they were all either exceptionally gifted or massively lucky.

In order to achieve the high levels of success that earned them all a great deal of money and public recognition they first read the books, made the calls, attended the meetings, experienced the rejection, believed, plodded on, experienced more rejection, made more calls, made more presentations, and experienced more failures.

Truth is.....in order to achieve any level of success in network marketing you are going to have to be 'willing' to go through the difficult to get to the successes. You will fail and you will have to be willing to fail again. You will be less than perfect....in the beginning.

Don't fall for the "it's easy" dialog that so many want to throw around in the effort to recruit people who are looking for easy. The business is 'simple' but it is not easy. It's work and you have to show up....even when you don't feel like it. But, it's worth it! Stick with it. Fail, fail again. Cherish the small wins in the beginning. Win again.

Like anything worth doing in life, you will get better. You have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run. Are you with me? Let's do this!

What if you didn't know?

What if you didn't know that you could fail?

What if you removed all of the self imposed limitations from your life? Yould you attempt more things that you currently don't consider? Would you live life more fully?

Start today to live life like there was no possibility of failure. Start with something small that you have put off because you weren't sure you could get it done or, worse yet, were afraid you might fail at.

Take a chance. Learn a new skill. Try something new. Step outside of your own limitations! Little steps lead to bigger steps which lead to small successes...which lead to big successes.

Are you willing to risk your 'status quo' for something more?
